Fabrication of a Cold Rolled Steel Rack for the POP Display Industry
At Eugenio’s Sheet Metal, we provide our customers with a single source solution for their metal fabrication needs. In the project highlighted here, the customer’s requirements would call into play almost all of our capabilities to deliver a turnkey solution.
The product was designed to work as a rack, and hold signs for a POP (point-of-purchase) display. For strength and durability, the units were composed of 18 and 11 gauge cold rolled steel. Our precision CNC turret press was employed for the required stamping, with additional forming, bending, and cutting on our shear and punch press. After TIG welding the parts into the completed assembly, it was deburred and cleaned in preparation for finishing, which included powder coating and silk screening.
The finished product featured dimensions of 26.50” in depth, 22.50” in width, and 34.31” in height, and was fabricated to tolerances of ± 0.03”. Quality control throughout the process consisted of comprehensive dimensional and visual inspections performed at critical stages of the process. Once they passed QC, the units were packaged and shipped to the customer’s Ontario, CA location. The entire run of 2000 finished racks was completed in just 6 weeks.
